Guided Float fishing

Drift boat excursions for one or two anglers. Half day (4 hours) or full day trips (7 Hours) are available. Our typical options for float trips are the Tuckaseegee, Watauga, and South Holston Rivers. We also fish local hydroelectric impoundments from time to time. Year after year, decade after decade, the drift boat float trips continue to produce the best quality and quantity fishing our area has to offer. The boat offers access to deeper sections of the river and gets you away from the public access areas. The boat also is a great option for customers who have mobility issues or aren't as sure-footed as they used to be.
Walk and Wade fishing

Many customers simply want the best fishing, float or wade, available at that specific time of year. If this is the case, let Jerry know at the time of booking.
All fishing and wading equipment is provided at no additional charge.
Flies and terminal tackle are included in the cost of your trip.
All trips are catch and release.
The minimum age for wading trips is 12 years old, and the minimum age for float trips is 10 years old. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The maximum number of clients Jerry can accommodate is two. He works closely with other guides in the area who can assist you with larger groups.
Jerry will contact you the day before your trip to coordinate the most convenient place to meet up.

Jerry offers wading trips for 1 or 2 anglers. There are a dozen or more good options for wading in the area depending on time of year and weather conditions. Half day (4 hours) and full day (7 Hours) options offer the ability to customize the trip to your schedule. Wading for trout in a mountain stream is an amazing way to spend a day. Its a great way to connect to the resource. Wading is a moderately strenuous activity that requires stamina and balance. The casting can be more challenging than on float trips also, so we generally recommend wading trips for more experienced anglers.

Refine your technique with expert coaching. The best investment you can make before that big flyfishing "trip of a lifetime" is honing and practicing your casting and presentation. The time to figure it out is not in the bow of a drift boat in Alaska, or on the deck of a flats boat in Belize. Years of guiding and thousands of clients have helped Jerry learn to quickly diagnose and correct common casting flaws, and help his customers maximize accuracy and distance.
